Transliteration Ya ayyuha almuddaththir
Sahih International O you who covers himself [with a garment],
Transliteration Qum faanthir
Sahih International Arise and warn
Transliteration Warabbaka fakabbir
Sahih International And your Lord glorify
Transliteration Wathiyabaka fatahhir
Sahih International And your clothing purify
Transliteration Warrujza fahjur
Sahih International And uncleanliness avoid
Transliteration Wala tamnun tastakthir
Sahih International And do not confer favor to acquire more
Transliteration Walirabbika fasbir
Sahih International But for your Lord be patient.
Transliteration Fa-itha nuqira fee annaqoor
Sahih International And when the trumpet is blown,
Transliteration Fathalika yawma-ithin yawmunAAaseer
Sahih International That Day will be a difficult day
Transliteration AAala alkafireena ghayruyaseer
Sahih International For the disbelievers - not easy.
Transliteration Tharnee waman khalaqtu waheeda
Sahih International Leave Me with the one I created alone
Transliteration WajaAAaltu lahu malan mamdooda
Sahih International And to whom I granted extensive wealth
Transliteration Wabaneena shuhooda
Sahih International And children present [with him]
Transliteration Wamahhadtu lahu tamheeda
Sahih International And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].
Transliteration Thumma yatmaAAu an azeed
Sahih International Then he desires that I should add more.
Transliteration Kalla innahu kana li-ayatinaAAaneeda
Sahih International No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
Transliteration Saorhiquhu saAAooda
Sahih International I will cover him with arduous torment.
Transliteration Innahu fakkara waqaddar
Sahih International Indeed, he thought and deliberated.
Transliteration Faqutila kayfa qaddar
Sahih International So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
Transliteration Thumma qutila kayfa qaddar
Sahih International Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
Transliteration Thumma nathar
Sahih International Then he considered [again];
Transliteration Thumma AAabasa wabasar
Sahih International Then he frowned and scowled;
Transliteration Thumma adbara wastakbar
Sahih International Then he turned back and was arrogant
Transliteration Faqala in hatha illa sihrunyu/thar
Sahih International And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].
Transliteration In hatha illa qawlu albashar
Sahih International This is not but the word of a human being."
Transliteration Saosleehi saqar
Sahih International I will drive him into Saqar.
Transliteration Wama adraka ma saqar
Sahih International And what can make you know what is Saqar?
Transliteration La tubqee wala tathar
Sahih International It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
Transliteration Lawwahatun lilbashar
Sahih International Blackening the skins.
Transliteration AAalayha tisAAata AAashar
Sahih International Over it are nineteen [angels].
Transliteration Wama jaAAalna as-habaannari illa mala-ikatan wamajaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheenakafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitabawayazdada allatheena amanoo eemananwala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitabawalmu/minoona waliyaqoola allatheena feequloobihim maradun walkafiroona mathaarada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalikayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashaowama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wamahiya illa thikra lilbashar
Sahih International And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.
Transliteration Kalla walqamar
Sahih International No! By the moon
Transliteration Wallayli ith adbar
Sahih International And [by] the night when it departs
Transliteration Wassubhi ithaasfar
Sahih International And [by] the morning when it brightens,
Transliteration Innaha la-ihda alkubar
Sahih International Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]
Transliteration Natheeran lilbashar
Sahih International As a warning to humanity -
Transliteration Liman shaa minkum an yataqaddama awyataakhkhar
Sahih International To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.
Transliteration Kullu nafsin bima kasabat raheena
Sahih International Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
Transliteration Illa as-haba alyameen
Sahih International Except the companions of the right,
Transliteration Fee jannatin yatasaaloon
Sahih International [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other
Transliteration AAani almujrimeen
Sahih International About the criminals,
Transliteration Ma salakakum fee saqar
Sahih International [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"
Transliteration Qaloo lam naku mina almusalleen
Sahih International They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,
Transliteration Walam naku nutAAimu almiskeen
Sahih International Nor did we used to feed the poor.
Transliteration Wakunna nakhoodu maAAa alkha-ideen
Sahih International And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],
Transliteration Wakunna nukaththibu biyawmi addeen
Sahih International And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
Transliteration Hatta atanaalyaqeen
Sahih International Until there came to us the certainty."
Transliteration Fama tanfaAAuhum shafaAAatu ashshafiAAeen
Sahih International So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
Transliteration Fama lahum AAani attathkiratimuAArideen
Sahih International Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
Transliteration Kaannahum humurun mustanfira
Sahih International As if they were alarmed donkeys
Transliteration Farrat min qaswara
Sahih International Fleeing from a lion?
Transliteration Bal yureedu kullu imri-in minhum an yu/tasuhufan munashshara
Sahih International Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.
Transliteration Kalla bal la yakhafoonaal-akhira
Sahih International No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
Transliteration Kalla innahu tathkira
Sahih International No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder
Transliteration Faman shaa thakarah
Sahih International Then whoever wills will remember it.
Transliteration Wama yathkuroona illaan yashaa Allahu huwa ahlu attaqwawaahlu almaghfirat
Sahih International And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.
