Transliteration Noon walqalami wama yasturoon
Sahih International Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,
Transliteration Ma anta biniAAmati rabbika bimajnoon
Sahih International You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.
Transliteration Wa-inna laka laajran ghayra mamnoon
Sahih International And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.
Transliteration Wa-innaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheem
Sahih International And indeed, you are of a great moral character.
Transliteration Fasatubsiru wayubsiroon
Sahih International So you will see and they will see
Transliteration Bi-ayyikumu almaftoon
Sahih International Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].
Transliteration Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dallaAAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bilmuhtadeen
Sahih International Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.
Transliteration Fala tutiAAi almukaththibeen
Sahih International Then do not obey the deniers.
Transliteration Waddoo law tudhinu fayudhinoon
Sahih International They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].
Transliteration Wala tutiAA kulla hallafinmaheen
Sahih International And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer
Transliteration Hammazin mashsha-in binameem
Sahih International [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -
Transliteration MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin atheem
Sahih International A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,
Transliteration AAutullin baAAda thalika zaneem
Sahih International Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.
Transliteration An kana tha malinwabaneen
Sahih International Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,
Transliteration Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatunaqala asateeru al-awwaleen
Sahih International When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
Transliteration Sanasimuhu AAala alkhurtoom
Sahih International We will brand him upon the snout.
Transliteration Inna balawnahum kamabalawna as-haba aljannati ith aqsamoolayasrimunnaha musbiheen
Sahih International Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning
Transliteration Wala yastathnoon
Sahih International Without making exception.
Transliteration Fatafa AAalayha ta-ifunmin rabbika wahum na-imoon
Sahih International So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.
Transliteration Faasbahat kassareem
Sahih International And it became as though reaped.
Transliteration Fatanadaw musbiheen
Sahih International And they called one another at morning,
Transliteration Ani ighdoo AAala harthikum inkuntum sarimeen
Sahih International [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."
Transliteration Fantalaqoo wahum yatakhafatoon
Sahih International So they set out, while lowering their voices,
Transliteration An la yadkhulannaha alyawmaAAalaykum miskeen
Sahih International [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."
Transliteration Waghadaw AAala hardin qadireen
Sahih International And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.
Transliteration Falamma raawha qalooinna ladalloon
Sahih International But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;
Transliteration Bal nahnu mahroomoon
Sahih International Rather, we have been deprived."
Transliteration Qala awsatuhum alam aqul lakumlawla tusabbihoon
Sahih International The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [ Allah ]?' "
Transliteration Qaloo subhana rabbinainna kunna thalimeen
Sahih International They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."
Transliteration Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatalawamoon
Sahih International Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
Transliteration Qaloo ya waylana innakunna tagheen
Sahih International They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
Transliteration AAasa rabbuna an yubdilanakhayran minha inna ila rabbina raghiboon
Sahih International Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."
Transliteration Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabual-akhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoon
Sahih International Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
Transliteration Inna lilmuttaqeena AAinda rabbihim jannatiannaAAeem
Sahih International Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.
Transliteration AfanajAAalu almuslimeena kalmujrimeen
Sahih International Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?
Transliteration Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoon
Sahih International What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?
Transliteration Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoon
Sahih International Or do you have a scripture in which you learn
Transliteration Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroon
Sahih International That indeed for you is whatever you choose?
Transliteration Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatunila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoon
Sahih International Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?
Transliteration Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeem
Sahih International Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.
Transliteration Am lahum shurakao falya/too bishuraka-ihimin kanoo sadiqeen
Sahih International Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.
Transliteration Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawnaila assujoodi fala yastateeAAoon
Sahih International The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,
Transliteration KhashiAAatan absaruhumtarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ilaassujoodi wahum salimoon
Sahih International Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.
Transliteration Fatharnee waman yukaththibubihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythula yaAAlamoon
Sahih International So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.
Transliteration Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateen
Sahih International And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.
Transliteration Am tas-aluhum ajran fahum min maghraminmuthqaloon
Sahih International Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
Transliteration Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboon
Sahih International Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
Transliteration Fasbir lihukmi rabbikawala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nadawahuwa makthoom
Sahih International Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.
Transliteration Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatunmin rabbihi lanubitha bilAAara-i wahuwa mathmoom
Sahih International If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.
Transliteration Fajtabahu rabbuhu fajaAAalahumina assaliheen
Sahih International And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.
Transliteration Wa-in yakadu allatheenakafaroo layuzliqoonaka bi-absarihim lamma samiAAooaththikra wayaqooloona innahu lamajnoon
Sahih International And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."
Transliteration Wama huwa illa thikrunlilAAalameen
Sahih International But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.
