Sahih International Ta, Seen, Meem.
Transliteration Tilka ayatu alkitabialmubeen
Sahih International These are the verses of the clear Book.
Transliteration LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka allayakoonoo mu/mineen
Sahih International Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
Transliteration In nasha/ nunazzil AAalayhim mina assama-iayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum lahakhadiAAeen
Sahih International If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.
Transliteration Wama ya/teehim min thikrin minaarrahmani muhdathin illa kanooAAanhu muAArideen
Sahih International And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
Transliteration Faqad kaththaboo fasaya/teehim anbaoma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oon
Sahih International For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
Transliteration Awa lam yaraw ila al-ardi kamanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareem
Sahih International Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Wa-ith nada rabbukamoosa ani i/ti alqawma aththalimeen
Sahih International And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
Transliteration Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoon
Sahih International The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah ?"
Transliteration Qala rabbi innee akhafu anyukaththiboon
Sahih International He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
Transliteration Wayadeequ sadree walayantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroon
Sahih International And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
Transliteration Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafuan yaqtuloon
Sahih International And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
Transliteration Qala kalla fathhababi-ayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoon
Sahih International [ Allah ] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
Transliteration Fa/tiya firAAawna faqoola innarasoolu rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,
Transliteration An arsil maAAana banee isra-eel
Sahih International [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
Transliteration Qala alam nurabbika feenawaleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineen
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
Transliteration WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAaltawaanta mina alkafireen
Sahih International And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."
Transliteration Qala faAAaltuha ithanwaana mina addalleen
Sahih International [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray.
Transliteration Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukumfawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleen
Sahih International So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
Transliteration Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayyaan AAabbadta banee isra-eel
Sahih International And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
Transliteration Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameen
Sahih International Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
Transliteration Qala rabbu assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntummooqineen
Sahih International [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
Transliteration Qala liman hawlahu alatastamiAAoon
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
Transliteration Qala rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumual-awwaleen
Sahih International [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
Transliteration Qala inna rasoolakumu allatheeorsila ilaykum lamajnoon
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
Transliteration Qala rabbu almashriqi walmaghribiwama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloon
Sahih International [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
Transliteration Qala la-ini ittakhathta ilahanghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneen
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
Transliteration Qala awa law ji/tuka bishay-in mubeen
Sahih International [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?"
Transliteration Qala fa/ti bihi in kunta mina assadiqeen
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
Transliteration Faalqa AAasahu fa-ithahiya thuAAbanun mubeen
Sahih International So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.
Transliteration WanazaAAa yadahu fa-itha hiya baydaolinnathireen
Sahih International And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
Transliteration Qala lilmala-i hawlahu inna hathalasahirun AAaleem
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
Transliteration Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikumbisihrihi famatha ta/muroon
Sahih International He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
Transliteration Qaloo arjih waakhahu wabAAathfee almada-ini hashireen
Sahih International They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
Transliteration Ya/tooka bikulli sahharin AAaleem
Sahih International Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
Transliteration FajumiAAa assaharatu limeeqatiyawmin maAAloom
Sahih International So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.
Transliteration Waqeela linnasi hal antummujtamiAAoon
Sahih International And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
Transliteration LaAAallana nattabiAAu assaharatain kanoo humu alghalibeen
Sahih International That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
Transliteration Falamma jaa assaharatuqaloo lifirAAawna a-inna lana laajran in kunnanahnu alghalibeen
Sahih International And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
Transliteration Qala naAAam wa-innakum ithanlamina almuqarrabeen
Sahih International He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
Transliteration Qala lahum moosa alqoo maantum mulqoon
Sahih International Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
Transliteration Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahumwaqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnualghaliboon
Sahih International So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
Transliteration Faalqa moosa AAasahufa-itha hiya talqafu ma ya/fikoon
Sahih International Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
Transliteration Faolqiya assaharatu sajideen
Sahih International So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah ].
Transliteration Qaloo amanna birabbialAAalameen
Sahih International They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
Transliteration Rabbi moosa waharoon
Sahih International The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
Transliteration Qala amantum lahu qabla an athanalakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu assihrafalasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakummin khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeen
Sahih International [Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
Transliteration Qaloo la dayra innaila rabbina munqaliboon
Sahih International They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
Transliteration Inna natmaAAu an yaghfira lanarabbuna khatayana an kunnaawwala almu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
Transliteration Waawhayna ila moosaan asri biAAibadee innakum muttabaAAoon
Sahih International And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
Transliteration Faarsala firAAawnu fee almada-ini hashireen
Sahih International Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
Transliteration Inna haola-i lashirthimatunqaleeloon
Sahih International [And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,
Transliteration Wa-innahum lana lagha-ithoon
Sahih International And indeed, they are enraging us,
Transliteration Wa-inna lajameeAAun hathiroon
Sahih International And indeed, we are a cautious society... "
Transliteration Faakhrajnahum min jannatinwaAAuyoon
Sahih International So We removed them from gardens and springs
Transliteration Wakunoozin wamaqamin kareem
Sahih International And treasures and honorable station -
Transliteration Kathalika waawrathnahabanee isra-eel
Sahih International Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
Transliteration FaatbaAAoohum mushriqeen
Sahih International So they pursued them at sunrise.
Transliteration Falamma taraa aljamAAaniqala as-habu moosa innalamudrakoon
Sahih International And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
Transliteration Qala kalla inna maAAiya rabbeesayahdeen
Sahih International [Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
Transliteration Faawhayna ila moosaani idrib biAAasaka albahra fanfalaqafakana kullu firqin kattawdi alAAatheem
Sahih International Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
Transliteration Waazlafna thamma al-akhareen
Sahih International And We advanced thereto the pursuers.
Transliteration Waanjayna moosa waman maAAahuajmaAAeen
Sahih International And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
Transliteration Thumma aghraqna al-akhareen
Sahih International Then We drowned the others.
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Watlu AAalayhim nabaa ibraheem
Sahih International And recite to them the news of Abraham,
Transliteration Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mataAAbudoon
Sahih International When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"
Transliteration Qaloo naAAbudu asnamanfanathallu laha AAakifeen
Sahih International They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."
Transliteration Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ithtadAAoon
Sahih International He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?
Transliteration Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroon
Sahih International Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"
Transliteration Qaloo bal wajadna abaanakathalika yafAAaloon
Sahih International They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."
Transliteration Qala afaraaytum ma kuntumtaAAbudoon
Sahih International He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,
Transliteration Antum waabaokumu al-aqdamoon
Sahih International You and your ancient forefathers?
Transliteration Fa-innahum AAaduwwun lee illa rabbaalAAalameen
Sahih International Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
Transliteration Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeen
Sahih International Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.
Transliteration Wallathee huwa yutAAimuneewayasqeen
Sahih International And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.
Transliteration Wa-itha maridtu fahuwayashfeen
Sahih International And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
Transliteration Wallathee yumeetunee thummayuhyeen
Sahih International And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
Transliteration Wallathee atmaAAu anyaghfira lee khatee-atee yawma addeen
Sahih International And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."
Transliteration Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqneebissaliheen
Sahih International [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
Transliteration WajAAal lee lisana sidqinfee al-akhireen
Sahih International And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.
Transliteration WajAAalnee min warathati jannati annaAAeem
Sahih International And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.
Transliteration Waghfir li-abee innahu kanamina addalleen
Sahih International And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.
Transliteration Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoon
Sahih International And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -
Transliteration Yawma la yanfaAAu malun walabanoon
Sahih International The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
Transliteration Illa man ata Allahabiqalbin saleem
Sahih International But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."
Transliteration Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeen
Sahih International And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.
Transliteration Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaween
Sahih International And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,
Transliteration Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntumtaAAbudoon
Sahih International And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
Transliteration Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakumaw yantasiroon
Sahih International Other than Allah ? Can they help you or help themselves?"
Transliteration Fakubkiboo feeha hum walghawoon
Sahih International So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
Transliteration Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoon
Sahih International And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
Transliteration Qaloo wahum feeha yakhtasimoon
Sahih International They will say while they dispute therein,
Transliteration Tallahi in kunna lafeedalalin mubeen
Sahih International "By Allah , we were indeed in manifest error
Transliteration Ith nusawweekum birabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Wama adallana illaalmujrimoon
Sahih International And no one misguided us except the criminals.
Transliteration Fama lana min shafiAAeen
Sahih International So now we have no intercessors
Transliteration Wala sadeeqin hameem
Sahih International And not a devoted friend.
Transliteration Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoonamina almu/mineen
Sahih International Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... "
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Kaththabat qawmu noohinalmursaleen
Sahih International The people of Noah denied the messengers
Transliteration Ith qala lahum akhoohum noohunala tattaqoon
Sahih International When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Transliteration Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me."
Transliteration Qaloo anu/minu laka wattabaAAakaal-arthaloon
Sahih International They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"
Transliteration Qala wama AAilmee bimakanoo yaAAmaloon
Sahih International He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?
Transliteration In hisabuhum illa AAalarabbee law tashAAuroon
Sahih International Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.
Transliteration Wama ana bitaridialmu/mineen
Sahih International And I am not one to drive away the believers.
Transliteration In ana illa natheerunmubeen
Sahih International I am only a clear warner."
Transliteration Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yanoohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeen
Sahih International They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."
Transliteration Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththaboon
Sahih International He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.
Transliteration Faftah baynee wabaynahum fathanwanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almu/mineen
Sahih International Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."
Transliteration Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu feealfulki almashhoon
Sahih International So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
Transliteration Thumma aghraqna baAAdu albaqeen
Sahih International Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Kaththabat AAadun almursaleen
Sahih International 'Aad denied the messengers
Transliteration Ith qala lahum akhoohumhoodun ala tattaqoon
Sahih International When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Transliteration Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatantaAAbathoon
Sahih International Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
Transliteration Watattakhithoona masaniAAalaAAallakum takhludoon
Sahih International And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?
Transliteration Wa-itha batashtum batashtumjabbareen
Sahih International And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wattaqoo allathee amaddakumbima taAAlamoon
Sahih International And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
Transliteration Amaddakum bi-anAAamin wabaneen
Sahih International Provided you with grazing livestock and children
Transliteration Wajannatin waAAuyoon
Sahih International And gardens and springs.
Transliteration Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathabayawmin AAatheem
Sahih International Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
Transliteration Qaloo sawaon AAalaynaawaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheen
Sahih International They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
Transliteration In hatha illa khuluqual-awwaleen
Sahih International This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
Transliteration Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeen
Sahih International And we are not to be punished."
Transliteration Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahuminna fee thalika laayatan wama kanaaktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleen
Sahih International Thamud denied the messengers
Transliteration Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihunala tattaqoon
Sahih International When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Transliteration Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Atutrakoona fee ma hahunaamineen
Sahih International Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],
Transliteration Fee jannatin waAAuyoon
Sahih International Within gardens and springs
Transliteration WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuhahadeem
Sahih International And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?
Transliteration Watanhitoona mina aljibalibuyootan fariheen
Sahih International And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wala tuteeAAoo amraalmusrifeen
Sahih International And do not obey the order of the transgressors,
Transliteration Allatheena yufsidoona fee al-ardiwala yuslihoon
Sahih International Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."
Transliteration Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareen
Sahih International They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
Transliteration Ma anta illa basharun mithlunafa/ti bi-ayatin in kunta mina assadiqeena
Sahih International You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."
Transliteration Qala hathihi naqatunlaha shirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloom
Sahih International He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.
Transliteration Wala tamassooha bisoo-infaya/khuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheem
Sahih International And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."
Transliteration FaAAaqarooha faasbahoonadimeen
Sahih International But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
Transliteration Faakhathahumu alAAathabu innafee thalika laayatan wama kanaaktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Kaththabat qawmu lootinalmursaleen
Sahih International The people of Lot denied the messengers
Transliteration Ith qala lahum akhoohum lootunala tattaqoon
Sahih International When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Transliteration Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Ata/toona aththukranamina alAAalameen
Sahih International Do you approach males among the worlds
Transliteration Watatharoona ma khalaqa lakumrabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoon
Sahih International And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."
Transliteration Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yalootu latakoonanna mina almukhrajeen
Sahih International They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."
Transliteration Qala innee liAAamalikum mina alqaleen
Sahih International He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].
Transliteration Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimmayaAAmaloon
Sahih International My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."
Transliteration Fanajjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeen
Sahih International So We saved him and his family, all,
Transliteration Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireen
Sahih International Except an old woman among those who remained behind.
Transliteration Thumma dammarna al-akhareen
Sahih International Then We destroyed the others.
Transliteration Waamtarna AAalayhim mataranfasaa mataru almunthareen
Sahih International And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Kaththaba as-habual-aykati almursaleen
Sahih International The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
Transliteration Ith qala lahum shuAAaybun alatattaqoon
Sahih International When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Transliteration Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Transliteration Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
Sahih International So fear Allah and obey me.
Transliteration Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Awfoo alkayla wala takoonoo minaalmukhsireen
Sahih International Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.
Transliteration Wazinoo bilqistasialmustaqeem
Sahih International And weigh with an even balance.
Transliteration Wala tabkhasoo annasaashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideen
Sahih International And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.
Transliteration Wattaqoo allathee khalaqakumwaljibillata al-awwaleen
Sahih International And fear He who created you and the former creation."
Transliteration Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareen
Sahih International They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
Transliteration Wama anta illa basharunmithluna wa-in nathunnuka lamina alkathibeen
Sahih International You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.
Transliteration Faasqit AAalayna kisafan minaassama-i in kunta mina assadiqeen
Sahih International So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."
Transliteration Qala rabbee aAAlamu bimataAAmaloon
Sahih International He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."
Transliteration Fakaththaboohu faakhathahumAAathabu yawmi aththullati innahu kanaAAathaba yawmin AAatheem
Sahih International And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.
Transliteration Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
Sahih International Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Transliteration Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Sahih International And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Transliteration Wa-innahu latanzeelu rabbi alAAalameen
Sahih International And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.
Transliteration Nazala bihi arroohu al-ameen
Sahih International The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
Transliteration AAala qalbika litakoona mina almunthireen
Sahih International Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners -
Transliteration Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeen
Sahih International In a clear Arabic language.
Transliteration Wa-innahu lafee zuburi al-awwaleen
Sahih International And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.
Transliteration Awa lam yakun lahum ayatan anyaAAlamahu AAulamao banee isra-eel
Sahih International And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?
Transliteration Walaw nazzalnahu AAala baAAdial-aAAjameen
Sahih International And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
Transliteration Faqaraahu AAalayhim ma kanoobihi mu/mineen
Sahih International And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.
Transliteration Kathalika salaknahu feequloobi almujrimeen
Sahih International Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals.
Transliteration La yu/minoona bihi hattayarawoo alAAathaba al-aleem
Sahih International They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
Transliteration Faya/tiyahum baghtatan wahum layashAAuroon
Sahih International And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.
Transliteration Fayaqooloo hal nahnu muntharoon
Sahih International And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"
Transliteration AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloon
Sahih International So for Our punishment are they impatient?
Transliteration Afaraayta in mattaAAnahum sineen
Sahih International Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
Transliteration Thumma jaahum ma kanooyooAAadoon
Sahih International And then there came to them that which they were promised?
Transliteration Ma aghna AAanhum ma kanooyumattaAAoon
Sahih International They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.
Transliteration Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illalaha munthiroon
Sahih International And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
Transliteration Thikra wama kunnathalimeen
Sahih International As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
Transliteration Wama tanazzalat bihi ashshayateen
Sahih International And the devils have not brought the revelation down.
Transliteration Wama yanbaghee lahum wamayastateeAAoon
Sahih International It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
Transliteration Innahum AAani assamAAilamaAAzooloona
Sahih International Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.
Transliteration Fala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara fatakoona mina almuAAaththabeen
Sahih International So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished.
Transliteration Waanthir AAasheerataka al-aqrabeen
Sahih International And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.
Transliteration Wakhfid janahakalimani ittabaAAaka mina almu/mineen
Sahih International And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.
Transliteration Fa-in AAasawka faqul innee baree-onmimma taAAmaloon
Sahih International And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."
Transliteration Watawakkal AAala alAAazeezi arraheem
Sahih International And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
Transliteration Allathee yaraka heenataqoom
Sahih International Who sees you when you arise
Transliteration Wataqallubaka fee assajideen
Sahih International And your movement among those who prostrate.
Transliteration Innahu huwa assameeAAu alAAaleem
Sahih International Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Transliteration Hal onabbi-okum AAala man tanazzaluashshayateen
Sahih International Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
Transliteration Tanazzalu AAala kulli affakinatheem
Sahih International They descend upon every sinful liar.
Transliteration Yulqoona assamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboon
Sahih International They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.
Transliteration WashshuAAaraoyattabiAAuhumu alghawoon
Sahih International And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;
Transliteration Alam tara annahum fee kulli wadinyaheemoon
Sahih International Do you not see that in every valley they roam
Transliteration Waannahum yaqooloona ma layafAAaloon
Sahih International And that they say what they do not do? -
Transliteration Illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati wathakaroo Allahakatheeran wantasaroo min baAAdi ma thulimoowasayaAAlamu allatheena thalamoo ayyamunqalabin yanqaliboon
Sahih International Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
